Welcome to my  page!

My name is Gula (Goulnara) Volodin.

I was born and brought up in Kazan, Russia (a part of the Soviet Union at that time).

There as a teenager I learned to draw while going to art school. However, instead of pursing a career in the arts I decided to study mathematics and even taught it at a university before moving to Canada in 2000.

I started to relive my old dream in Canada and began painting. First I simply drew for pleasure and gave away my paintings to friends and acquaintances. Later on, realizing how much I adore art, I've moved on to make it a profession. Many of my pictures are now in private collections and commercial galleries throughout Canada, Europe and Australia.

In 2009 my family moved to  Perth, Western Australia. I found Perth with it's beautiful parks, ever blooming flowers and beaches to be a very influential place for fine art.

As a realist impressionist I love to paint just about anything that gives me opportunity to play with light and colour. My inspiration comes from my surroundings. I find beauty everywhere around me and am very  happy to share it with you.
